Zero tolerance policy during St. Maarten Carnival

St. Maarten – The Public Prosecutor and the Police Department will maintain and enforce a zero tolerance policy during the 2012 Carnival Season.

Any person or persons who are arrested during any of the carnival activities as a suspect for public violence, any form of ill-treatment, threatening, weapons possession, assault and destruction will be detained until the Carnival season has passed. They will be handed a summons with their court date before they are released.
