St. Maarten – In the St. Martin Pony League playoff series for the 2012 -2013 youth baseball championship the number one seat St. James Yankees defeated the Dutch Quarter Dodgers 16-4 to put their team one step closer to the finals.

The game began by Dutch Quarter batting but the team was no match for pitcher Junito Clark who dominated the Dodgers to a scoreless first inning. In their turn at bat the Yankees show why they practice batting every day. Pitcher Jesus Enrique could not detain the bats of the Yankees. They scored 8 big runs in the first inning. The Dodgers managed to score two runs in the fourth when Joly Gumbs connected double with 2 runners on the bases. Joly then scored on a hit by Kelly Feliciano. In their last inning the St. James Yankees once again scored 8 big runs to bring the score to 16-3. Dutch Quarter only managed to score one run in their last inning for a final result of 16-4. St. James now has won two games in the best of 5 semi final series. Next week the two teams will meet again while the St. Georges Cubs play against Cul de Sac Padres.
