St. Maarten – The ad-hoc Committee on Winair installed by Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams has met the pilots and union to discuss the airline’s current situation.
“From all indications that meeting went very well in terms of giving the information to the pilots and other staff, as well as the union, the necessary information with regards to the airline’s current position,” Wescot-Williams said.
The Prime Minister has also announced that the airline’s new board should be approved in a shareholders meeting on June 10. The names of the nominees have been sent to the Corporate Governance Council and the prime minister expects that their advice will be ready by the time the meeting is held. The board consists of representatives from St. Maarten and the Netherlands, which represents the golden shares held by both Saba and St. Eustatius.
