Winair expands fleet and adds new destinations

St. Maarten – Windward Island Airways International (Winair) will add  additional aircraft to its fleet and four new desinations to its route map starting December 15.

Soon the airline will receive leased ATR 42 aircraft with a capacity of 48 passengers. These  ATR aircraft will be flying  to Curacao and Santa Domingo, starting December 15.

The new service will depart from St. Domingo on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturday’s at 12 noon and arrive in St. Maarten at 2 .m. The flight will depart St. Maarten at 2.30 p.m. and arrive in Santo Domingo at 4.30 p.m.

From Santo Domingo to Curacao the new service will be on Wednesday and Sunday and will depart from Santo Domingo at 12 noon and arrive in Curacao at 2 p.m. and depart from Curacao at 2.30 p.m. and arrive in Santo Domingo at 4:30 p.m.

From December 15, Winair will also start with two daily flights to Totola departing from St. Maarten at 11.35 a.m. and arriving in Tortola at 12.20 p.m. A second flight will depart at 4.55 p.m. and arrive in Tortola at 5.40 p.m. From Tortola the first flights will depart at 12.40 p.m. and arrive in St. Maarten at 1.30 p.m.; the second flight departs at 6 p.m. and arrives in St. Maarten at 6.55 p.m.

The other destination to be added is Anguilla with two daily flights. The first flight will depart from St. Maarten at 12.10 p.m. and arrive in Anguilla at 12:20 p.m. then return ten minutes later to  arrive in St. Maarten again at 12.40 p.m. A second flight will depart from St. Maarten at 4 p.m. for the ten-minute flight and depart again from Anguilla at 4.20 p.m. to arrive in St. Maarten at 4.30 p.m. This destination will be serviced with the De Havilland Twin Otter.

Winair will add a service starting February 15 of next year to Puerto Rico via Anguilla, Dominica, and Guadeloupe.
