St. Maarten – The family of Member of Parliament William Marlin thanked the public Thursday for their outpouring of concern around his sudden illness. The faction leader, who is also leader of the Opposition, became ill Wednesday night and was admitted to the St. Maarten Medical Center on Thursday.

A statement from the family said that he was stable and resting comfortably, but asked the public not to flood the hospital.

“His doctors recommend that there be no visitors at this time so that he can have the time and rest to recuperate fully,” family representative Silveria Jacobs said.

The family has pledged to report developments and thanked the public for received and continued prayers, well wishes and expressions of concern.
