GREAT BAY – It took Julietta White the better part of two hours to add the Midas touch to the simple straw hat that was adjudged the winning piece during the 7th Tea Party & Hat Show which was organized by Class 9, of the St Peters Methodist Church on Sunday. White won one of the gift baskets which was donated by Le Grand Marche.
It was indeed an afternoon of elegance for grownups and a few kids who also wanted to share the lime light. The tea party which was held at the Browlia F. Mailliard Campus, in St John’s Estate got off to a start after a short parade by church members which started at the Cake House.
Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams, who celebrated her birthday on Sunday, attended the event in a black dress and a huge yellow hat with a black bow trimmed with gold. Attendees had the chance to win prizes by participating in quizzes and modeling by kids and adults. Attendees won things like a weekend stay at Ocean Club, a weekend stay at Sophia Beach Club, a weekend stay at Oyster Bay and a visit to Angelicas Spa.
