Veterans face off in soccer

FRENCH QUARTER- A total of six veteran soccer teams will be showing that they still have what it takes to be competitive when the Veterans competition kicks off at the Alberic Richards Stadium in French Quarter at 6.00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
The competition which will coincide with the 50th anniversary of Winair, will run for five consecutive Saturdays will involve the Nagico Funmakers, Veendam/ Team 2000 Combine, United Super Force, St Louis Stars, Marigot Vets and Air Fin Masters.
The high point of the opening ceremony will be the kicking of the ball by Edwin Hodge, Managing Director of Winair. The first game in the competition will feature the St Louis Stars going up against Air Fin Masters in which Frank Litenburg will officiate. In game two, the Nagico Funmakers will challenge the Marigot Vets and the man in charge of that game is Alrick Chittick. In game three, the United Super Force will face Veendam/team 2000 Combine and Litenburg will also officiate in that game.
