University networks in Aruba and Curacao

GREAT BAY – On September 17 management of the University of Saint Martin attended the “Leraren aan het stuur,” a congress organized by the Education Directorate in Aruba together with Look, the scientific center for teacher research. The St. Maarten-delegation visited the University of Aruba and the Instituto Pedagogico Aruba.

The congress centered primarily on networking but also explored various educational topics like the accreditation possibilities available to the Dutch Caribbean.

On Wednesday September 19USM President Annelies van den Assem and Dean of Academics Glen Yeung paid a visit to the University of the Netherland Antilles in Curacao to discuss additional cooperation. As part of the already established collaboration, the Bachelor in Business administration (BBA) and  bachelor in accounting (BA), accredited by the” Nederlands Vlaamse  Accreditatie  Organizatie” (NVAO), are scheduled to begin this Friday  with 21 USM alumni.
