Two armed robberies on one day

St. Maarten – The police reported on Friday that two armed robberies took place last week. During the robbery of the Futa supermarket in the Keys a lone robber brandishing a handgun chased everybody out of the supermarket around seven thirty in the evening of Tuesday April 5, took $190 from the cash and fired a shot when he left.

The robber had covered his face with a bandana; he wore dark blue jeans, and a black tee short and was approximately 1.85 in length. Police said that the same man had robbed the supermarket already on an earlier occasion.

On the same day, around twenty minutes past nine in the evening, two robbers entered a supermarket on Rubber Tree Drive in Orange Grove. One robber entered via a back door, his accomplice through the front door. Both robbers were armed with a handgun. They took around $600 and two cell phones and fled via the Tjon Sie Fat road.
