Trinity Christina is little Miss St. Martin

St. Maarten – Trinity Christina of the Sister Borgia School captured the title of Little Miss St. Martin 2014  crown in the presence of well- wishers, supporters , family and friends at the Philipsburg Cultural Center on St. Martin Day.

First runner up was Inaya Richardson, of the Dr. Martin Luther King School.  Reigning Junior Carnival Queen, Laetitcia Cozier was the second runner up while Aaliyahe Harrigan placed as third runner up and captured the title of Miss Amity. The latter position was selected by the contestants.

Dashannique Pascal won Best Princess wear and Miss Photogenic. For capturing the title of Miss Photogenic, Dashannique will be given a photo shot compliments of E. Harrigan Photography.

Trinity Christina also won three of the four categories; best Introduction, spoken word and creative wear. Just two years ago Trinity witnessed the crowning of Genesis Meyers and dreamed that one day she would be crowned Little Miss St. Martin as well. Trinity stated “Dreams do come true once you believe and work hard.”

“I am deeply honored and moved by the out pouring of support given to the contestants , the judges really had a tough decision to make . The girls were extremely talented,” states pageant director Nzinga Lake.

“I strongly believe my goal in challenging  the little ladies as much as entertaining our audience was achieved ,” Lake added.

The winners will be receiving their cash prizes as a  savings plan courtesy of First Caribbean Bank. Other prizes include cameras, pageant medals of participation, trophies and gift bags compliments of Manrique Capriles. The Queen received a Laptop compliments of First Caribbean Bank, a trip for two to Puerto Rico courtesy of Travel Planners and a beautiful floral presentation arranged by Marisol of Flores by Marisol.

MC’s  for the event were 2012/13 Queen Genesis Meyers alongside Nkozasana Illis. Honorees were Jadira Van Veen of the Nature Foundation for her unconditional  commitment to the island’s beaches and environment, Youmay Dormoy and Minerlva Dormoy for Culture , Rudolp Davis and Nicole Deweever for their contribution to the Youth through the art of  dance and Nilda Arduin- Lynch , St.Maarten’s  first woman Ombudsman. Honorees and parents were given Floral presentations sponsored by Manrique Capriles.

” I would like to thank my sponsors for their generous support to the continued success of the pageant , the judges, my team , chaperones,  NIA Institute of the Arts, Akilyah Carty , Natorii Illidge, Serentiy Martis , her backup dancers, Tehilla Dance Expression Dance Group and Pastor Benejamin Bell, who sang an emotional tribute to the mothers of the contestants a rendition of  Martina Mc Bride” In my daughter’s eyes”, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house,” concluded Lake.
