Town hall meeting tonight at Belair Community Center

St. Maarten – Tonight there is a zoning plan town hall meeting for residents of the Cul de Sac basin (South Reward, Ebenezer, St. Peters, Saunders, St. John’s Estate, Mary’s Fancy and environs), Little Bay and Cay Hill. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Belair Community Center and is scheduled to conclude by 9.30.
The development plan for the area comprises of a legal framework for possible future development in the district, to designate or to reserve land for desired use, to prevent undesired development and to offer legal security to residents.
This is the first meeting that will allow residents and stakeholders to provide their views and ideas. They will be included into the draft development plan that will be presented to the community in a follow-up town hall meeting.
The main topics that will be discussed are traffic, tourism, industrial and residential use, nature and culture.
The Dutch agency Usona funds the development plan-process with 2 million guilders ($1.1 million).
