Top Model Search this Friday -attendance free-

POSTED: 12/2/14 6:52 PM

St. Maarten – Seven teenage young women will compete for the coveted spot of Ms. Modest Top Model this Friday at the Carl and Sons Conference Room in Colebay from 7:30 pm. The event is free of charge and open to the general public.  The Top Model Search is a spinoff of the annual Ms. Modest Girls Mentorship program that the Youth Development Center hosts.

The program started on November 8 in Marigot and will now culminate with the Top Model Search and graduation ceremony. The organizers promise an exciting evening of classy entertainment where the young women will be required to demonstrate their savvy fashion sense, public speaking skills, intelligence and talent.

Vying for top honors are Domonique Fleming, Shaun-Taigh Lewis, Shekinah Gumbs, Naima Eugene, Azana Dunkley, Sephora Ellis, Fredrica Webster and Floriane Javois. They have been in training for the past four weeks developing culinary, social and personal development skills under the tutelage of teacher Bernesha Albert-Tavanier and entrepreneur Emalie Questel.

Apart from the top spot, the organizers are also planning to award the contestant who generates the most social media buzz. To this end, an online voting poll has been opened for the general public to vote for their favorite contestant. Voting is free and only accepts a vote from any specific IP address, once daily. It can be accessed by visiting: http://vote.pollcode.com/39726483.

More information on the Ms. Modest Top Model Search can be received by calling +590 690. 26.93.66, 721-580-6796 or by emailing ydc.sxm@gmail.com.

YDC says that the decision was taken to make the event a free one, to reinforce its commitment to celebrating the hard work and transformation of the girls, instead of making money. Refreshments will however be on sale.
