Three vocational schools to be renovated during summer break

St. Maarten – Kick-off meetings about the renovations of classrooms at Sint Maarten Academy PSVE, at the Vocational Training School and at Milton Peters College were held June 23. The meetings were attended by the architects, the contractors, School Boards, school management, Derpi and Usona representative.

Work begins this month and should be completed by the start of the 2011/2012 school year in August. The entire project is financed by Usona for an amount of 1.25 million guilders as part of the Education Program. The financing covers the preparations, designing, learning materials and furnishing.

Under this project one classroom at the St. Maarten Academy PSVE will be renovated for the care component and another will be renovated for the technical classes. Independent Consulting Engineers did the design and preparation and the physical work will be carried out by Concrete Specialist Construction N.V.

Three classrooms at the St. Maarten Vocational Training School will be renovated for use in teaching ICT, Technical studies and Cultural Artistic Formation. A store will also be built. Independent Consulting Engineers did the design and preparation on this project as well and the physical work will also be done by Concrete Specialist Construction N.V.

The “Metal/Technique” classroom at the Milton Peters College will be revamped. The design and supervision will be done by Pream Architects and the construction will be done by Liccom N.V. SVOBE is responsible for the financial part of the electrical works for MPC

The preparation and supervision for the electrical installations and plumbing for the three projects is being handled by C.E.C.C.
