Third suspect King-murders makes statement to police

St. Maarten – The third suspect in the Michael and Thelma King murder, 20-year- old J.J.W. is cooperating with investigators and has made a statement, the prosecutor’s office said in a press release issued last night. The Judge of Instruction approved W.’s arrest and the prolongation of his custody until next Monday October 15. On that day, a decision will be taken about placing the suspect in pre-trial detention.
Police are still analyzing all the information it gathered in the course of the investigation. Among it is video footage from ten different locations in the vicinity of the murder scene at the Ocean Club Resort in Cupecoy. The statement given by the three suspects are being reviewed and verified.
The prosecutor’s office said that all three suspects remain under restrictions for visiting rights and contacts. This means that they are only allowed to have contact with their attorneys.
