St. Maarten —The third of three suspects in the armed robbery at Atlantis Casino that took place on November 16th last year, has been arrested and remains in police custody for further investigations.

The three armed robbers dressed as women and entered the casino where they shot a security guard in his leg during the commission of the robbery. The robbers entered the casino and went straight to the cashier, threatening this employee with a gun and demanding money. The security guard confronted the robbers and was shot in his leg. The robbers did not manage to get any cash during the commission of this crime.

Following the incident the police made a public appeal and urged the public to contact the police department with any information in connection with the suspects or the attempted robbery.  The first two suspects were arrested on two separate occasions. One of the suspects in this same attempted robbery was arrested after he caught the attention of police when he was spotted riding a dirt bike without license plates in the Cole Bay area. The patrol also recognized the rider as one of the suspects of the armed robbery at Atlantis Casino for whom a warrant had been issued.

All three suspects are now in police custody.
