St.maarten- Indo Guyanese residing on the island and their close Trinidadian and Surinamese friends will be afforded an opportunity to dance the night away on Saturday September 24th during the ‘Ultimate Dance Party’ that will take place under the tent at the Princess Port de Plaisance.
This is the second event that is being organized by D&D Productions, the first was when Guyanese here were celebrating the 50th anniversary of their country’s Independence and that event was well attended. However this time, the lineup which is bigger will include for the second time Terry Gagraj, aka Bangali Baboo.
The other entertainers for the party are Raymond ‘Showstoppa’ Ramnarine from Trinidad & Tobago, Seeta Panday, the lady with the ability to emulate Lata Mangeshkar, Devindra Pooran, with a voice like Mukesh, Granny Ivlaw, from Guyana, Jay Hall, Girlie, Randy Ramdin, Richard Ramnarine and DJ Kris will be the DJ for the night.
"Actually, we are still celebrating our 50th anniversary celebrations, it’s a year-long event, the last party in May was more symbolic, but this time it’s going to be bigger and better because the people asked for a repeat," said Devin Ramraj, speaking on behalf of D&D Productions.
Ramraj further described the line up as very powerful where all will bring their own style of music that will appeal to everybody. "There will be music that the more elderly folks can relate to then as the party goes on, the vibes will be pumped up.”
"This one is a real dance party, seating will only be provided for the VIP’s who will have an elevated view of the artists and those on the dance floor," he stated. According to Ramraj, he is in the process of merging with ‘Guyana Tunes’. The objective is to set up a foundation on St Maarten which will be affiliated with the ‘Save Abee Foundation which has been established with the sole purpose of lending assistance to those in need in Guyana.
"This will be our way of giving back something to the people in Guyana through D&D Productions. We are inviting all friends of Guyanese to come out and have a night of fun."
