POSTED: 11/1/11 12:26 PM

GREAT BAY – St. Maarten in Retrospect will go live for the 13th time on St. Maarten’s Day November 11 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The show, which is co-hosted and produced by Elton Richardson, first went live on LBC TV, Channel 7 in 1998 and is meant to bring more emphasis and awareness to the celebration by focusing on the island’s culture and history and delivering performances by some of the island’s folkloric groups and artists.

Richardson and Gina Bruney, who jointly possess over 20 years of television experience, will once again host the program together. The producers are also happy that the government of St. Maarten is supporting the program, which will be aired on St. Maarten Cable T.V. and streamed on www.sxmsunshine.com. The stream has been running since 2008 and allowed people to send feedback from countries like the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, the United States and islands in the region. This includes Curacao who carry it through a link up with Tele-Curacao.

Next to government the show has several sponsors who continue to give “overwhelming support” to the production. One of the principle sponsors is Windward Island Airways International N.V. (Winair). The airline has donated tickets that will be given away during this year’s broadcast. People will have to answer questions about the airline’s history in order to win the tickets.
