Suspect in car break-in arrested

St. Maarten – Saturday around 2.30 p.m., the Simpson Bay patrol was informed of a car break-in in the vicinity of La Bamba. The two unknown suspects had fled towards Cole Bay where patrols started with the search. During the search a patrol spotted the suspected vehicle which only one of the men was driving. After following the man, the suspect increased speed and drove towards the French boarder where the French police immediately was informed. The car was followed into Sandy Ground where the suspect jumped out of the car and went into hiding.  After the Gendarmes arrived the man had turned himself in and was arrested on the spot. Yesterday the suspect, a Dominican man with the initials G.A.H., was handed over to the police in Philipsburg where he remains in custody for further investigation.
