Students square off in board game competition

St. Maarten – Students from Milton Peters College, St Dominic High, St Maarten Academy and St Maarten Academy PSVE, Sundial and the St Maarten Vocational School faced off in dominoes, chess and draughts on Friday as part of the fifth indoor board games competition. The event is the third of seven events the United Student Government Front plans for 2012. It was sponsored in part by Windward Island Bank, Domino Pizza and Demaco as a means to assist young people develop their individual skills in games.

“This organization has been in operation for the past five years and our main purpose is to allow the students from the various schools to unite and be competitive in these games,” event organizer Sinatra Rouse said.

The prizes included movie tickets for top team, ice cream certificates for the sub champions and domino pizza for the third place team.
