St. Maarten —Drugs, illegal weapons and violence appeared to be the order of the day yesterday when police responded to reports of a stabbing in the vicinity of the Milton Pieters College and the St. Maarten Academy P.S.V.E. Both parties involved were students.

“On the scene the investigating officers found the 17-year-old victim who had two superficial stab wounds to his upper chest from which he was bleeding. The suspect had already fled the scene in the direction of Milton Peters College. The victim was attended to by the paramedics and then taken to the St. Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. The 17-year-old suspect with the initials D.W. was located shortly after in the vicinity of the Milton Peters College,” Police spokesman Inspector Ricardo Henson explained.

“During a search of the suspect the knife that was used in the stabbing was found along with 24 small plastic bags each containing a small amount of marijuana prepared for distribution. The suspect was arrested on the spot. The knife and drugs were confiscated for further investigation.”
