GREAT BAY – The St. Maarten Tourist Bureau participated in a Road Show throughout Denmark from June 11 to 13 based on an invitation from Spies – one of the largest Danish Tour Operators. Spies is part of the Thomas Cook Nordic Group and the tour included meetings with the company’s sales staff.

Spies recently started selling the destination and the road show is considered “the ideal opportunity to present the island and train the sales agents in what St. Maarten as a premier tourist destination has to offer visitors.”

Bart Schüller of  the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau in the Netherlands was joined by Heleen Bruggeman from the Sonesta St. Maarten and Sander Langeveld from Westin Dawn Beach Resort & Spa. Together they gave a comprehensive introduction on St. Maarten.
The presentation was given in small groups with sufficient time to go into detail allowing for a good interaction between sales staff and representatives from St. Maarten. The interests was great and the sales agents asked many questions, demonstrating the eagerness of the sales staff to really get a complete picture about the ‘Friendly Island’ destination.

The Road Show took the St. Maarten delegation to Copenhagen, Aarhus and Esbjerg. All participants were awarded with a ‘St. Maarten Specialist’ certificate to put on their desk.
