St. Maarten – Over 30 real estate agents from both sides of St. Maarten gathered for an evening themed “Speed Networking for Agents” at Toppers Restaurant in Simpson Bay last Friday night. The event was organized by the Real Estate Association of St. Maarten (RAM) to give all real estate agents a chance to share some of their best inventory with other agents in the business and potentially create an environment that could stimulate the matching of buyers and sellers. The evening also allowed agents to mingle and network.

“This event is kind of like speed dating for agent. I feel I gained some valuable information and besides that it was nice to speak with others in the business, in a casual setting,” Ram chairman Arun Jagtiani said.

Ram was established earlier this year and currently has close to 20 members. Membership is open to anyone who is involved in the renting or selling of real estate on the Dutch side of St. Maarten. The association will be releasing more information about its short and long term goals in the coming weeks, but has stated the primary focus is to bring brokers and agents together to protect their common interests.
“I think a real estate association is long overdue on this island. I like the principles and the vision for Ram. Tonight was a fun and productive night, but it’s only a glimpse of what I believe Ram will be doing to help this industry in the years to come,” Indigo Bay project manager and member of RAM Marc Van Der Bilt said.
