St. Maarten Prime Minister stresses planning well for royal visit

St. Maarten – Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams has announced that while the Government of St. Maarten does not have a lot to just throw around, she has instructed that the royal visit to St. Maarten be planned well. A proposed budget, including where the money will come from, is currently being worked on. That budget, which is being put together by a committee, will cover all aspects of hosting the visit.

“We either do it good or we don’t do it all. If we value the matter sufficiently then we’re going to do it good. We don’t have money to just throw in the air, but if we’re going to do it, we’re going to do it right. As far as I’m concerned that’s what our focus has to be and I am not, as a representative of Country St. Maarten, going to do any less, than any other country as far as the visit is concerned,” Wescot-Williams has said.

Specific dates when Her Majesty Queen Beatrix, Crown Prince Willem Alexander and Princess Maxima will be in St. Maarten have not yet been released but the general dates of October 28 to November 6 has been announced by the Royal Press Office.
