St. Maarten Prime minister attends OCTA ministerial meetings

St. Maarten – Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams left the island this weekend at the head of the country’s delegation to the 2011 Ministerial Conference of the Overseas Countries and Territories Association (OCTA). The meeting, which is being held in Brussels, opens today with a welcome by the OCTA Chairman followed by the presentation of reports on the organization’s activities throughout the past year. There will also be a briefing on the planning for 2012.
Throughout Monday there will be several Round-Table discussions and presentations about European Union (EU)-Overseas Countries & Territories (OCTs) Partnership 2013; Achievements and Prospects for OCTA; Trade, Regional Integration & Innovation; and Renewable Energy and Climate Change.
