St. Maarten Police receive new cars

POSTED: 09/26/12 12:17 PM

St. Maarten – Yesterday Chief Commissioner Peter de Witte received the keys for four new police cars on behalf of Justice Minister Roland Duncan. The cars were “very much needed to be able to continue to provide the necessary assistance to the community,” the police stated in a press release.

The police car fleet now has three new double cabin Nissan 4×4 diesel pick-up trucks and one Nissan X-trail. The pick-ups will be used for the uniformed division in the Simpson Bay and Philipsburg districts and the Nissan X-trail is for the community police officers.

The police force expressed “a special word of gratitude” in its press release to Junior Halley, the manager of Nissan Sint Maarten Cars, “who has been instrumental in having the cars immediately delivered upon request.”
