St. Maarten PM rejects Marlins request again: no meeting Council of MinistersPOSTED: 05/29/13 12:10 PM
St. Maarten – Vice Prime Minister William Marlin made another failed attempt to put his proposal to dissolve the parliament on the agenda of last Tuesday’s Council of Ministers meeting. Prime Minister Wescot-Williams turned down the request in a letter dated May 27.
The PM wrote that Marlin made a similar request for the meeting of the Council of Ministers in May 21 and that she turned down that request based on legal advice she presented in that meeting.
“The reason provided by me for not handling the request remain intact today, in fact are strengthened by more recent developments, such as the resignation of the cabinet of ministers.”
Because the PM turned down the request, no meeting of the Council of Ministers took place yesterday.
