St. Maarten Parliament meets on infrastructure developments and GEBE next Monday

St. Maarten – A general public meeting of parliament on infrastructure developments on St. Maarten and the impact on the environment and developments at GEBE (Utilities) including the generation and distribution of electricity and water and the fuel clause has been convened for January 16 based on a request signed by all members of the National Alliance faction. The 2:00 p.m. meeting in the General Assembly Chamber of the House of Parliament will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 20.
The request for the meeting is dated January 6 and includes a request for Minister of Housing, Physical Planning, Environment and Infrastructure Theo Heyliger to be present for the discussion on the infrastructure developments and then to stay on in his capacity as Shareholder Representative for GEBE to discuss the developments at GEBE. Minister of Economic & Tourism Affairs, Telecommunications & Transport Franklin Meyers has also been requested to be present for this discussion.
