St. Maarten Parliament meets Central Bank leadership again Friday

POSTED: 04/12/12 12:41 PM

St. Maarten – Members of Parliament will continue their discussions with the Central Bank of Curacao and St. Maarten (CBCS) on Friday. A delegation led by the President Director Emsley Tromp still has to address MPs on political influences affecting the Central Bank, currency for Curacao and St. Maarten vis a vis dollarization and the question: is there a future for the Central Bank of Curacao and St. Maarten.

This closed door Central Committee meeting was requested by Roy Marlin and Petrus Leroy de Weever of the Democratic Party and Independent Member of Parliament Patrick Illidge. The discussions actually began on March 30 and Tromp has already briefed MPs on the present status of the Central Bank and the results that led to the Central Bank implementing the borrowing ceiling measure.
