St. Maarten – The price of gasoline will jump to 2.33 guilders per liter at midnight on Sunday. The eight cent per liter hike was announced on Friday by Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transportation and Telecommunication Franklin Meyers.

In the announcement the Minister states that prices of gasoline and other petroleum based products except 20 pound cylinders of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are being adjusted because of “continued increases in oil prices internationally.”

As of Sunday the cost of diesel will rise to 2.10 guilders, a six cent hike, 100 pound LPG cylinders will rise 15 guilders to 165 guilders and LPG Bulk will rise five cents from 1.60 guilders per pound to 1.65 guilders per pound.
