St. Maarten – Unlike previous shows when patrons enter the Festival Village and just gyrate a little while the entertainers perform on stage, ‘Xtratight’ Entertainment will be seeking to take the partying to another level during a dance which is dubbed as ‘Night Of The Hit Makers’ on Friday April 19.

Among the groups that will be performing on that night in question, Burning Flames & Onyan will be the guest artistes, there will also be Le Groove from Aruba, Gio Fuertisimo & 2013 Tumba King, Control Band and Oswald. Tickets are available at Van Dorp, Adolphus Office Supplies, Fun Miles, PJD2 Radio, Shieka’s, K Cees, S.O.S Radio and the MC for the night is Roland’ Paben’ Bryson.

Xtratight Entertainment, a locally based entity which was founded by Berteaut Fleming, aka Mr Rude, a son of the soil is attempting to add a new touch to the annual carnival festivities one day after the village is officially opened.

“We plan to create the biggest dance floor St Maarten has ever seen, this is not going to be a concert, this is going to be a dance,” Mr. Rude said during a press conference which was held in the Board Room in the Festival Village Friday.

“That night promises to be a dance never to be forgotten and the people who love to dance will appreciate when we create the biggest dance floor and have the biggest discothèque environment in the Festival Village,” Mr Rude added.

While he refrained from elaborating on the exact details of the dance floor which will be erected specially for that purpose, Mr Rude said that patrons can expect the wow factor on the night in question.

Despite the fact that Extratight Entertainment will be making their debut on April 19, it’s nothing new for Mr Rude, an experienced promoter who spent considerable time on Holland. Mr Rude, whose trade name in those days was ‘No Fear Crew’ was responsible for staging the biggest St Maarten parties in Rotterdam. He also has his own record label, under the name of ‘Rock N Vibes, which started back in 2004 and to date the biggest name he has released is Ziggi Recado’ from St Eustatius.

Extratight Entertainment has already found a way to be flexible with the prospective party goers by offering an ‘Early Bird’ special which ended on March 9th where tickets could have been purchased for $15. Tickets are currently on sale at $25 but at the gate, they will have to pay $35.

“The early bird special is our contribution to what I consider as the biggest cultural event in St Maarten, with the motto, bringing back the good old days,” Mr Rude pointed out. However, for those who may have missed a chance to secure one of those tickets, another opportunity will present itself at Kooyman this weekend during the Fun Miles Expo.

Mr Rude expressed his heart felt gratitude to the board of the St Maarten Carnival Development Foundation for allowing Extratight Entertainment the distinct opportunity to stage the first entertainment event in the village.

“The TelEm Group of Companies is once again happy to be sponsoring one of St Maarten’s Carnival premier events and we are giving Mr Rude and his team our full backing, which is an Antillean event which embraces the entire St Maarten community,” said Cheryl Rismay.

“We need new blood and we need to keep it fresh,” said the SMCDF President Michael Granger who also took the opportunity to congratulate Mr Rude on behalf of the SCDF and thank the main sponsor, TelEM as well as the other sponsors who have come on board.

“I went to school with Mr Rude, I know how determined and hardworking he is and I have seen his concept for the village, it’s perfect for the first night. We can separate the countries, but we cannot separate the people,” Granger added.
