St. Maarten – The St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation SCDF unveiled on Saturday morning its new shirts. Carnival kicks off next week Monday and closes on Tuesday May 3. “We are fortunate enough to celebrate the first Carnival under our new country status and we simply couldn’t let it go unnoticed,” SCDF president Stuart Johnson stated in a press release issued this weekend.

The new polo shirts feature the colors of the St. Maarten flag – mainly red, white and blue – and the Scotiabank logo.

The bank’s logo is located on one sleeve while the other displays the St. Maarten flag. “We would like to thank the Scotiabank and in particular the Managing Director Elie Bendaly, for once again for coming through for us,” Johnson said.

The SCDF president said that the postage stamp design contest is still ongoing; the winning design will be chosen as the first stamp for Country St. Maarten. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, April 27.

Entries can be delivered at the SCDF-office or at the post office to the attention of Denicio Richardson.
