St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation and ILTT solidify relationship for Carnival

GREAT BAY -The St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) and International Liquors and Tobacco Trading (ILTT), distributors of Heineken and Captain Morgan Rum have joined forces for Carnival during the next three years.
With a working relationship of more than two decades, the two entities have confirmed their commitment by coming to terms for Carnival, many months in advance of the event’s 45th anniversary celebration.

SCDF has been active in pushing the “early preparation leads to better execution” principle and is extremely happy that one of its long standing partners understands and appreciates this approach.

“We value the relationship we’ve built with Heineken beer, Captain Morgan rum and ILTT over the years. The company is an integral part of Carnival and their active participation is very important to us from an operational standpoint,” SCDF President Mike Granger said.

“On behalf of the board and volunteer members of the SCDF, we extend many thanks to the management of ILTT and its team for working with us at this early stage and for continuing our long standing relationship.”
Heineken beer and Captain Morgan rum will serve as the official beer and the official rum of Carnival 2014.
“Heineken is happy to play such a big role in the St. Maarten Carnival, we are proud to be chosen every year as “St. Maarten’s favorite beer”, and we see it as our role to help contribute to the premiere cultural event on the island, it’s important to us to earn the title of the official beer of St. Maarten Carnival,” Heineken Marketing Manager Nila Rambhadjan says, adding, “The planning of the St. Maarten Carnival is a tremendous affair and we applaud the SCDF for its efforts.”
Erica Fortuno, Brand Manager for Captain Morgan Rum is again excited about Captain Morgan rum being the official rum of Carnival 2014 and said “After another extremely successful St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, we couldn’t pass it up for Carnival, this year. We are proud to support St Maarten’s annual Carnival.”

Granger also used the opportunity to present ILTT’s Commercial Director John Leone with honors as one of SCDF’s longest standing and dedicated corporate sponsors. ILTT was the only company for Carnival 2013 chosen by the SCDF to be honored as part of the annual Carnival Honors ceremony.

“We honor ILTT and the Heineken brand for standing with us through good and bad times. Carnival is a challenging venture and it helps when you know you have loyal corporate sponsors. No company sets that standard better than ILTT. The honor is well deserved,” Granger said.
