The removal is part of the ongoing switch to digital cable. It will also mean that Food Network will move from Channel 65 to Channel 47 and SPACE will move from Channel 58 to Channel 55.
The announcement was also made recently that people can begin swapping their analog boxes for digital ones on February 1. This will continue until May 1 so all customers can make the swap in “an orderly fashion.” The signal for most channels will be simulcast in both analog and digital during the transition period
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers, however, we are very pleased with our progress to date as we prepare for our digital launch,” Managing Director of St. Maarten Cable TV Beulah Jonis stated in a press release.
