GREAT BAYJunior Chamber International St. Maarten is inviting all high school students to take part in its annual Youth Speech Contest on Sunday October 28.

The contest is being held under the theme “Cultural Diversity is strength rather than a weakness.”

Interested students are being encouraged to obtain registration forms from their school principals. The winner will receive attractive prizes and will represent St. Maarten in the JCI Dutch Caribbean National Convention to be held in Curacao on November 9. St. Maarten has been capturing the grand prize for over 10 years now within the Dutch Caribbean.

“The speech competition enables our young people to develop their public speaking skills as well as their ability to research a topic and expound on it with proficiency. The competition also fosters good rivalry among the schools, as the students are always ready to lead their school to victory,” JCI St.Maarten advisor Sandra Hazel said.
