St. Maarten –Six detectives from Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao took the oath of office yesterday afternoon in the conference room at the Parliament building. The location was chosen because Justice Minister Roland Duncan sat in a meeting of Parliament there.

The six detectives become part of the large scale investigating team that is investigating the recent murders in St. Maarten. The detectives will remain in St. Maarten until at least the end of November.

Police spokesman Inspector Ricardo Henson said that the police force “desperately needs” the assistance from the detectives.

The police did not permit the detectives to be photographed in the interest of the ongoing investigations.
