St. Maarten – Visitors to Scotia’s Bank Simpson Bay branch may be surprised to learn that the employees have all been turned into physicians; performing diagnostics on their financial health. The unique campaign themed “Get a Free Mortgage Checkup” is a part of an ongoing switch mortgage promotion. The promotion began last year but has picked up pace owing to a unique marketing tool. All of the employees could be seen with stethoscopes around their necks. Branch manager Florencia William said that the sight of employees with stethoscopes certainly piqued the interest of many people which resulted in the staff being able to provide information.
“The idea was to catch the attention of customers and potential customers. Once this was accomplished we were then given the opportunity to give advice and perform our ‘mortgage checkup on their finances.”
Earlier in March, a special rate was also integrated into the campaign.
“What we did today really caught some people’s eyes,” William noted, adding that employees will continue to perform duties with their stethoscopes at least three times weekly for an indefinite period. The countrywide promotion also includes the Back Street branch.
