St. Maarten – Tiffany Reid’s secondary school – St. Maarten Academy P.S.V.E. – played a significant role in her funeral Monday afternoon at the New Testament Baptist Church. The deceased burnt body was found on September 8 on Pumpkin Road and there have been continuous tributes since then.
Reid’s mother continued to be deeply emotional Monday and had to be led into the church and as sympathizers filed past her daughter’s casket and then offered their condolences. The teen’s father remains in police custody, as the prime suspect in her death.
The welcome and opening remarks were delivered by Principal of the St. Maarten Academy P.S.V.E Solange Duncan. There were also tributes from Principal of the St. Joseph Elementary School Carmen Bowers-Lake, Reid’s classmates from Class 1D and from Reid’s friends Shanella Jean. The eulogy was read by Reid’s homeroom teacher Maureen Fortune.
