Three more arrests in international drugs investigation

St. Maarten – The Detective Collaboration Team RST searches six houses and the office of an unidentified real estate company early yesterday morning in the Maho and Simpson Bay area. The RST is busy with an international drugs investigation. The searchers took place under supervision of the Judge of Instruction and in the presence of a public prosecutor. Officers arrested three people: a 33-year old woman (A.R.) and two men – 31-year old A.H. and 37-year old G.K. all suspects are from St. Maarten.

The RST-officers were supported by the customs departments of curacao and Sint Maarten and by members of the local police force.

The house searches focuses on narcotics, weapons and administration. Officers confiscated money, cars, administration and data carriers for further investigation.

The early morning raid is part of a wider investigation that led last week to the arrest of two women and a man. The women are 26-year old D.H and 36-year old R.J.; the public prosecutor’s office identified the man as 27-year old Q.G. The three are still in pre-trial detention. Last week house searches on two addresses in Maho yielded weed, cocaine, (probably) ecstasy, money and a firearm.

In the interest of the investigation, the prosecutor’s office declined to provide more details.
