St. Maarten – TelEm Group will be carrying out an important cutover of subscriber lines in the Philipsburg area between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. today. The work will cause temporary interruptions to fixed landline, data and internet services.

Today’s work is the second phase of TelEm Group’s transfer of customer lines in the Philipsburg area from an outdated DMS 100 digital switch to a more modern CS2K Softswitch. Approximately 700 customers will be affected for brief periods during the time of the transfers. Upon completion of Wednesday’s cutover, only one phase in Philipsburg will remain to complete the island-side TelEm Group cutover project.
“Management takes this opportunity to apologize to customers in the Philipsburg area for any inconvenience caused,” a release stated.
Similar cutover operations have been carried out in Dawn Beach, Belvedere, Ebenezer, Simpson Bay, Cole Bay and in some parts of Philipsburg.
