Robbery trial adjourned

POSTED: 11/15/12 12:59 PM

St. Maarten – Judge Tamara Tijhuis ordered the reopening of the investigation against Jose V., one of the suspects in among others a heist at Caribbean Gems worth $340,000 on January 23.

The judge concluded that the investigation during the trial on October 25 – where prosecutor Hans Mos demanded 4 years imprisonment – was incomplete. Reports about two interrogations of co-suspect Brian H. have to be added to the file. The court also wants more information about the identification of the defendant as a participant in certain tapped phone conversations.

Jose V. is charged with taking part in two burglaries on January 12 on Cordia Drive, a burglary at Cash 4 Gold on January 19 and the heist at Caribbean Gems.
Judge Tijhuis adjourned the trial to an unspecified date in the future.
