Robbers put McDonald’s staff in freezerPOSTED: 10/15/15 3:31 PM
St. Maarten -Police are investigating a robbery at McDonald’s restaurant in Dutch Quarter. Tuesday morning close to 10.15 a.m., two armed men dressed in black forced their way into the establishment and managed to place five employees and one customer in the walk-in freezer. One of the bandits forced the manager to open the safe.
One of the employees told this newspaper that the men were aggressive and assaulted the store manager several times before getting the combination right to open the vault. The men escaped from the restaurant with close to $200 and fled the scene in a white car. The restaurant re-opened later on Tuesday while some employees were too traumatized to work. Police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson confirmed the robbery and stated that s search of the entire area did not lead to any arrests. This case will be investigated by the Special Robbery Unit.
