Registration opens for new round of naturalization exams

St. Maarten – The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport & Youth Affairs announced Tuesday that candidates who wish to take the Naturalization Examination can register at the Division of Examinations, located at Brooks Tower Suite B2 & B3 Falcon Drive #7, Harbour View between August 15to August 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Successful registration candidates are required to bring along an original identification card, a colored copy of the identification card, an original passport, a colored copy of your passport and a copy of the receipt of payment.

The examination fees have been stipulated in the regulations published by the Minister of Justice of the Netherlands on December 23rd, 2010 no. 20957. Candidates are required to deposit the examination fees on either the Windward Islands Bank account number 3248003 or submit payments at the receiver’s office on Pond Island next to the Festival Village. People who are sitting the exam for the first time will pay 275 guilders for the Orientation on Society & Political System exam, 225 guilders for English Language Skills and 110 guilders for Dutch Language Skills.

For candidates who have to sit reexaminations the fees are 140 guilders for Orientation on Society & Political System, 225 guilders for English Language Skills, 75 guilders for Reading Comprehension, 75guilders for Writing, 75 guilders for Listening Comprehension and 75 guilders for Speaking. The fees also include 110 guilders for Dutch Language Skills, 37 guilders for Reading Comprehension, 37 guilders for Writing, 37 guilders for Listening Comprehension and 37 guilders for Speaking.

Candidates who have registered will receive an exam notification of the chosen and paid exams at least 10 working days before the exam date.
