Reed congratulates police union on new status

St. Maarten – The Windward Islands Civil Servants Union/Private Sector Union (WICSU/PSU) has congratulated the Police Union of St. Maarten for becoming an “independent union.” The daily board of the union led by Carlyle Rogers was sworn in on Wednesday.

“The new established union can rely 100% on cooperation from WICSU/PSU. The challenges are there for both unions, but also new possibilities are being created for the St. Maarten Police Union locally and internationally by having your independence the sky is the limit,” WICSU President William Reed stated in a press release.

Reed has also pledged to assist the new daily board become members of the GOA. He has also committed to a joint approach on problem solving.

“We will approach all obstacles and try to remove them and bring positive and fresh items to the table, so that Country St. Maarten and civil servants can have a brighter and more successful future,” Reed stated.
