On March 27 Today published an article on its front page under de headline St. Maarten has its own Berlusconi-law.
The article incorrectly created the impression that Mentko Nap, who teaches constitutional law at the State University of Groningen, is the author of the memorandum that criticizes the national ordinance that regulates the prosecution of politicians in St. Maarten.
However, the memorandum was written by a committee of the local Bar Association, spearheaded by civil law attorney Roeland Zwanikken. Mr. Nap was asked to review the text and he made, as he explained in an email to this newspaper, “marginal comments” on the text.
Today apologizes for the confusion.
