St. Maarten – Early yesterday morning Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams attended the flag hoisting ceremony commemorating Aruba Day at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Zager’s Gut.

Despite a rainy morning the prime minister, joined by Acting Governor H.E Reynold Groeneveldt and members of the Chuchubi Foundation, attended the ceremony where both the St. Maarten and the Aruba Flag were raised.

The ceremony was followed by a commemorative Church Service at the Church during which the PM expressed her congratulations on the ‘Aruba Dia Di Himno y Bandera 2013’. “I would like to congratulate the Aruba population and in a very special way the Arubans who make up part of the St. Maarten community. Many of us from St. Maarten, myself included, have spent many years in Aruba whether it is for work, education and family ties and with that in mind I would like to wish all a very happy Aruba day,” the prime minister commented.
