St. Maarten – PriceWaterhouseCoopers  (PwC) donated a check to the Emilio Wilson Historical and Cultural Foundation for the restoration of the four huts in the Emilio Wilson Park. In 2002, in the beginning stage of the Emilio Wilson Park, PwC financed these four huts, including the tables and seats.

The Emilio Wilson Park has been developed on a parcel of estate that has a deep historical and cultural value for the island.   The members of the Emilio Wilson Historical & Cultural Foundation have taken on the task to restore this historical and cultural value by constructing and restoring some of the older historical structures on the property. The Cook House and huts are currently being restored, with the financial help of two local organizations.

PwC recently noticed that besides the cook house and huts, there are several other structures of historic value that have to be renovated, such as the Guard house, Wattle house, Thatch house, Out house, Doctor’s house and several other historical structures.

Paul van Vliet, Director at PwC St. Maarten says: “We applaud and gladly support the good work that the Emilio Wilson Historical & Cultural Foundation is doing in the restoration of the Park for the citizens and public.  This park is one of the several plantation estates on St. Maarten, where historical structures are being restored, while at the same time offering a recreational location where the public can spend time in a relaxed and green environment.  We encourage other corporate citizens to join us and support the Foundation in restoring the Park by donating towards such a good cause.”
