Police warn about counterfeit money

St. Maarten News – Several counterfeit one-hundred dollar bills have been intercepted recently at different businesses. Police is warning against “an unknown person or groups of persons” that are attempting to purchase goods with counterfeit money, or to exchange the counterfeit banknotes for other currency.

The police caution businesses and individuals to be careful with accepting 100-dollar bills and to check them if they are not sure the banknote is genuine. The department asks that counterfeit bills be reported immediately.
