Police nab a dozen at Rick Ross concert with drugsPOSTED: 04/29/16 12:22 PM
St. Maarten News – Police nabbed twelve visitors to the Rick Ross concert in the Festival Village between Friday evening and early Saturday morning for drug possession. During controls at the security check point, officers found quantities of marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy pills.
All twelve suspects were taken to the nearby police station and presented to the acting public prosecutor. Ten of them were conditionally dismissed with a fine, one was put in custody for further investigation and one has to do 30 hours of community service. The suspects paid between them $2,746 in fines. After payment, they were released.
The police said in a press statement that everybody entering the Festival Village for a show during the Carnival will be searched. Those who are caught with drugs or weapons will be arrested and put through the legal process.
