PM hikes with Hillside Adventures on Saturday

POSTED: 11/1/12 11:50 AM

St. Maarten – Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams and Hillside Adventures host a hike into the South Reward Hills on Saturday. Participants will have the opportunity to talk to local agriculturists about herbs and to learn about growing herbs in their own gardens.
Participants will also get first hand info in the sustainable eco-project which is being developed on St. Maarten and historical perspectives will also be given focused on the slave walls which can be found in the hills surrounding South Reward and Colombier.

“I encourage all those interested to come out and join the hike, not only to stay fit but also to learn about nature and the projects being done on St. Maarten. Those interested can meet with us at the St. Dominic School on Saturday at six a.m. Interested persons can also register at my Cabinet. The idea is to not only see St. Maarten moving forward but to see the people get moving as well. I would like to especially encourage civil servants as they can spend up to eight hours a day sitting behind their desks, so I encourage everyone to know that You Too Can Move,” Wescot-Williams said in a press statement.

The hike will take about one hour and Johnny Cakes, salt fish and bush tea will be served. For more information go to the Prime Minister’s Facebook page
