Plasterk arrives Tuesday

St. Maarten – Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations Minister Ronald Plasterk will arrive on Tuesday in St. Maarten where he will meet with Governor drs. Eugène Holiday, Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams and members of her cabinet. Plasterk ends his visit to the island at the Coast Guard in Simpson Bay.

Plasterk arrives today in Aruba here he will meet with Governor Fredis Refunjol, Prime Minister Henny Eman, the Council of Ministers and the faction leaders from parliament. The minister will also visit the Coast Guard. He will also be present when former astronaut Wubbo Ockels arrives in port with his zero-emission sailing boat.
On Monday and on Tuesday morning the minister is in Curacao for meetings with Acting Governor Adèle van der Pluijm-Vrede, Prime Minister Daniel Hodge and Curacao’s new cabinet. Plasterk will also meet with politicians and with representatives from social organizations.

On Wednesday afternoon Plasterk meets Governor Johnson on Saba, as well as the executive council and the Island council. On Thursday Plasterk will climb Mount Scenery, currently the highest point in the Netherlands.
Next week Thursday afternoon Plasterk is in Statia for a meeting with Governor Berkel, the Executive Council and the Island Council. On Friday he will get acquainted with the island and its history.

Friday afternoon Plasterk flies to Bonaire where he will meet Governor Emerencia, the Executive Council and the Island Council. Next week Saturday the minister concludes his trip to the Caribbean with visits to several projects; he will also receive explanations about the island’s social and economic situation.
